Gregory Halpern (b. 1977, USA) was raised in Buffalo, New York, and received a BA in History and Literature from Harvard University, and an MFA from California College of the Arts. He has published a number of books, including ZZYZX (MACK, 2016), A (J&L Books, 2011), Omaha Sketchbook (J&L Books, 2009) and in collaboration with Ahndraya Parlato, East of the Sun, West of the Moon (Études, 2014). He is also the co-editor of The Photographer’s Playbook: Over 250 Assignments and Ideas (Aperture, 2014). In 2014, Halpern was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.
